Happy Birthday Joel!

Wednesday, June 17th - Joel is 5 Years Old!

It was such a fun day! Joel woke up to balloons and his special birthday dishes for breakfast. He then got to go to art class and then head to his party! (We had it in the morning since Greg had to go to work at 2:00).

He got to invite 4 friends, but with all the siblings, there were 12 kids...and 9 adults! It was SO much fun to see all the kids playing together in the crazy weather. We had rain, mist, WIND, sun and then it got HOT and the kids got to play at the sprinkler park.

Opening presents.

This was one of the highlights - a Wall-E game for his Leapster! He also got legos, dinosaurs, puzzles, coloring books, cars, a volcano making kit (yikes!), and more! Thank you to everyone who hepled to make Joel's birthday happy!

And playing in the water (he spent a lot of time on the fence - being the lifeguard) :)
And here are some more random pictures from the party:
Playing with shadows...

For dinner we had home made pizza - and they each got to do their own toppings: cheese and olives, what else?!

We ended the day by going to see Greg at work and taking popsicles for a treat.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEL!

Random summer fun...

We found a great new park with this sprinkler area...the kids love it!
And Greg had fun getting these cool water shots

Joel bought a popsicle for himself and Maren using his OWN money from his birthday last year! He kept that $4 for almost a whole year, and he still has two left!
Later the same day we had this pouring rain and then hail!!

Snuggles

Joel and his friend Ethan from preschool...Ethan had a birthday party and ivited Joel!

We took a walk to Starbucks for a little treat...

"In" the pool

Even on a hot day, the water was too cold to do much more than stand there, but they had fun anyway...

Strawberry Picking

We went strawberry picking at the Berry Ranch on Monday and it was SO fun! This is Greg's favorite thing to do as a family, and the kids loved it too!

We got to take a hay ride out to the "strawberry garden" as Joel called it. :)

How sweet is this?

Both kids were very productive...this is after Joel had filled his up once.

Maren had a little help from Daddy.

The return ride on the tractor with the loot - 13 lbs of berries!!

It took me 2 hours to wash, sort, cut and bag these...glad we only do this once a year!
