Preschool Field Trip!

Joel got to go on a field trip last week to the Pumpkin Patch! They got to go on a hay ride, pick out pumpkins and go through a hay bale maze. It was a beautiful day and he had a lot of fun.

The whole class together.

Daddy got to take him on this one because I had a meeting.

Can you see Joel in the maze?

The Big Trip - Part 3

After the retreat we got to go back to Olympia to my sisters for four more nights! We had SO much fun just being all together for so long!

One of the days Christina and I took the four little ones to a farm where we had a picnic lunch then got to feed animals, and drink fresh apple juice.

These two are just the sweetest little friends! They laughed, and played, and jumped and played and played and played some more! They never ran out of things to do, and they never got tired of each other.

Silly little potato heads.

Maren wanted to sit on Uncle Geoff's motorcycle from the minute she saw it. Joel wasn't too excited, but Maren didn't want to get off!

Jordan and Uncle Greg trying to stay warm.

William and Maren are 5 months apart and they don't get along very well...we are hoping that it is a 2-year-old thing and that they will grow to love each other like Joel and Jordan do! In the meantime, here's William being silly!

Here's all the girls...

And all the boys.

We had such a wonderful vacation! Thank you for letting us stay with you, Ankeney's...it was SO fun and we miss you!

Fall Decorating

I decided to decorate my blog for the season! And I was getting kind of tired of my old background! Check out My Creative Side for more of my Fall decorating!

The Big Trip - Part 2

After one night in Portland and two nights in Olympia, we went to Camp of the Cascades (about an hour from Olympia) for a family retreat. It was really nice to spend some time together as a family - we even got to go for a hike! The camp property is amazingly beautifulAnd true to form in the NW we had all kinds of weather! We got to stay in this new section of the camp that they just built. The engine is real (I think) and all the box cars are like little cabins that if you were a crazy youth pastor, you could fit 10 smelly adolescents in there and call it youth camp! I think there are like 12 or 15 box cars - pretty fun. We got one to ourselves, which was nice. During free time on one of the days Joel got to ride a horse! (Maren and I took a nap.)Maren with a leaf that she carried around for the better part of an afternoon.

We had a wonderful time at this wonderful camp and look forward to doing it again next year!

The big trip - Part 1

We just got home from a 10-day trip to Washington to visit family and go to a retreat. Here are the pictures from the first leg.
Speaking of legs...yes, she has fruit snacks on her legs. Most kids would eat them, but Maren doesn't really like them - she would prefer to decorate herself with them!
The contented (somewhat glazed?) look of a child enjoying a movie on the portable DVD player that we bought for this trip.
After over 8 hours of driving, we made it to Portland and stayed at Mimi's for the night. The kids went out with her in the morning and picked vegetables from her amazing garden.
These are lemon cucumbers - and they are the best cucumber I have ever had!
Back in the car again - this time for a short drive up to Olympia. I had to stick this picture in because Maren twirls her hair when she is tired, and sometimes her finger gets stuck. See her thumb hanging from her hair?!?

And finally, we made it to the cousins! Joel and Jordan loved playing together just as much this time as they did when we were together in March.

The four "littles" in the tub. Maren, William, Joel & Jordan. The two older girls opted out of this wet photo op!

Stay tuned for more pictures soon!!

Fun at the park

Here are some fun pictures of us at the park a couple of weeks ago...

Grandma & Grandpa in Reno

At the end of September Greg's parents came from Reno to visit us for a weekend! I didn't get very many pictures, but we had fun hanging out, going for walks and eating out a lot!
